Discussion
and Book Signing with R. Marc Kantrowitz and Marianne
Larson, authors of the new pictorial history, Framingham
State College
Join us for a
discussion and signing of this fascinating, new pictorial
history of Framingham State College which, this year,
celebrates its 150th anniversary as the first public
institution for the education of teachers in the U.S. Drawing
on photographs from the school’s archival collection, the
authors chronicle Framingham State’s fascinating history,
from its beginnings in Lexington, Massachusetts (with only
three students), to larger quarters in West Newton and, in
1853, to its current location on Bare Hill in Framingham. See
the buildings as they originally looked, learn how they were
named and enjoy stories of the students, teachers and
administrators who have lived, learned and worked at
Framingham State College through the years.
