2005 Football Season Review |
|
The Framingham State College football team, led by forth year head coach Mark Sullivan, won their first game since the 2002 season beating MIT 14-7 on opening day. The Ram’s offense was led by sophomore quarterback Eian Bain (Stafford Springs, CT) who completed 75 passes for 740 yards on the season. Bain received the Calder Award at Homecoming for the second straight season as he guided the Rams to a 27-20 victory over Mass Maritime. Senior captain Adam Watkins (North Attleboro, MA) was named the team MVP in 2005 as he was the anchor of the Rams young defense and their main kick off returner. He finished the season with one interception and 60 tackles which earned him Honor Roll recognition in the New England Football Conference (NEFC). Junior defensive back Mark Peterson (Berkley, MA) earned a spot on the NEFC Second Team Defense as he led the Rams secondary with 55 tackles. The Rams were a young talented squad in 2005 that graduated only five seniors and will look to the underclassmen to add to their success next season. Written by Diana Scott, Class of '06 |
