William Barklow

Dr. Barklow teaches Animal Behavior, Wildlife Biology, Introduction to Organismal Biology, Biological Concepts and Evolution.  His research focuses on animal behavior and communication, he is currently studying above and below water communication in the hippopotamus.

Richard Beckwitt

Dr. Beckwitt teaches Marine Biology, Introduction to Cell and Molecular Biology and Introduction to Environmental Science. His research focuses on population genetics, molecular evolution and environmental science. He is currently using molecular techniques to elucidate the population structure of herds of hippopotamus.

Margaret Carroll, Chair

Dr. Carroll teaches Biology of Non-vascular Plants, Biological Concepts, Introduction to Organismal Biology and Quantitative Plant Ecology.   Her research focuses on the ecology and population biology of marine algae.  She is currently studying changes in the marine algal flora of Cape Ann, MA.

Professor Kolnicki A Human Perspective on Genetics, Introduction to Human Biology and Biological Concepts. Her research focuses on karyotypic fission in mammalian chromosomal evolution. She is currently working on deciphering Bat chromosomal evolution.

Dr. Liebert teaches Introduction to Organismal Biology, Biological Concepts, and the Professional Preparation course for students training to be middle and high school science teachers. She also supervises student teachers in the sciences. Her research focuses on the behavior, ecology and genetics of social insects.

Dr. Muller teaches Principles of Microbiology, Medical Microbioloogy and Immunology.  His research focuses on adhesion mechanisms and virulence of several species of Staphylococcus.

Dr. Snyder teaches Introduction to Human Biology, Introduction to Cell and Molecular Biology, Endocrinology and Developmental Biology.  His research focuses on the endocrine system and development.  Currently he is studying the hormonal effects of environmental pollutants.

Professor Thorp is the Framingham State Coordinator of the Bio Teach Program. This program is dedicated to promoting Biotechnology education in Massachusetts Schools. He is also the instructor for the Introduction to Human Biology course and an instructor for the Proprep Methods course in the PBTL program.  He holds a MA in Ed and a CAGS from Suffolk University.

Charlotte Zampini

Dr. Zampini teaches Vascular Plant Taxonomy, Plant Physiology, Biological Concepts and Genetics. She is a plant population biologist using molecular techniques to investigate the genetic diversity found in surviving stump sprouts of the American Chestnut.
