Dear Students:

In previous years Framingham State College has partnered with MEFA to provide the majority of Federal Stafford Loans to students. Unfortunately, due to the capital market, MEFA has decided not to participate in the Federal Family Education Loan Program (Federal Stafford and Plus Loans). Please be assured, however, that Federal Stafford and Plus Loans will still be available to families from other lenders for the 2008-2009 academic year. New Master Promissory Notes will be required of most students borrowing through the Federal Stafford Loan Program.

We are also researching and evaluating Private Loans that will be available to families. We know that many banks will continue to provide Private Loans to families for the upcoming academic year and we hope that MEFA will as well.

Framingham State College is evaluating all options to ensure that loans will be processed in the most efficient and beneficial manner to students. We will keep you updated regarding the loan process and any relevant information throughout the summer.
