Visiting Lecturer, Communication Arts Department

The Communication Arts Department of Framingham State College invites applications for a Visiting Lecturer at the Assistant Professor level to teach an undergraduate survey course in public relations.  Candidates should have professional experience in public relations and a record of, or potential for, outstanding undergraduate teaching. An accredited Master's Degree is required, Ph.D. is a plus.  Women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.  Interested/qualified applicants must submit a letter of application, CV, academic transcripts, and the names/contact information for three references by July 15, 2008 to the address below.

Full-Time Temporary, Communication Arts Department

The Communication Arts Department of Framingham State College invites applications for a full-time temporary position specializing in Film and Video production to begin fall 2008. An MFA in film and/or video production, or a related field, and several years of professional experience is required.  This individual will also have extensive knowledge of and experience with 16mm film production and processing.  The successful candidate will be able to teach Introduction to Film Production, Advanced Film Production and at least two of the following: Writing for Visual Media, Studio Production I & II; Field Production I & II, Broadcast Studies, Acting & Directing for the Stage, or Introduction to Visual Communication. The new hire will be experienced in teaching and using software on the Macintosh platform including After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Avid Xpress Pro, Avid Media Composer, ProTools II. Academic advising, departmental and college committee assignments, research and related service are expected. A minimum of three years college level teaching is required, plus a strong record of related professional experience, and a commitment to liberal arts education and engaged student learning.

Deadline for submission of materials is July 15, 2008.  Interested candidates should send a letter of application discussing qualifications, teaching philosophy and research agenda; curriculum vitae; official transcripts; selected samples of scholarly work on DVD; evidence of teaching effectiveness; and three current letters of references.

Visiting Lecturer Positions, Department of Economics and Business Administration
