The American Dietetic Association (ADA) is seeking an experienced accreditation professional to serve as Senior Director, Accreditation and Education Programs, Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE). The nation's largest organization of food and nutrition professionals, ADA has a staff of 150 employees who support dietitians in their efforts to improve the nation's health and advance the profession of dietetics through research, education and advocacy. Located in downtown Chicago, ADA has an operating budget of $32M and a membership of almost 68,000.
The ADA desires an experienced professional to direct, plan, develop and implement all functions of the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education, including standard setting, evaluation and quality improvement of dietetics education programs. The Senior Director will represent CADE regionally, nationally and internationally and serve as a resource to other organizational units on issues related to dietetics education. The Senior Director will oversee CADE financial and human resources, plan and direct services to address dietetics education issues and assist in the advancement of education programs.
Qualifications include: advanced degree in dietetics, education or business is required; a doctoral degree and registered dietitian credential are preferred. At least seven years of increasingly substantive administrative experience in higher education or nonprofit organization, accreditation or quality assurance agency for professional education programs, experience with dietetics education and with the accreditation process preferred, including knowledge of current issues in dietetics education and accreditation. A demonstrated capability to lead team efforts, including staff supervision and to work collaboratively with professionals within and outside of the organization is needed. Planning and directing multiple projects and budgets are required, as well as analytical thinking, creative problem solving and the ability to define and implement technological solutions. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) are necessary. Previous experience as organizational spokesperson is helpful, as are strong negotiating skills, experience with organizational boards and committees and a customer service focus. Some travel required.

Under general direction of the Bionutrition Research Manager of the General
Clinical Research Center (GCRC). Responsible for technical and research
nutrition related activities for studies conducted in the GCRC. Supports
the activities of the nutrition research team. Provides quality meals based
on the approved research protocol, research volunteer needs, and
departmental standards. Completes data entry in nutrition software systems
for the nutrient intake and/or development of specialized meals. Trains
nutrition research staff; may participant in the training of nutrition
students. Assists the Research Dietitian.
Responsible for the daily operations of the Metabolic Kitchen including meal
preparation, daily work sheet, organization, supplies (food and nonfood),
food safety, and sanitation.
Completes nutrient intake analysis using computerized nutrient data banks
from food records, recalls, food frequency questionnaires, and other
nutrient intake assessment tools.
Maintains daily, monthly, and quarterly census for meals/snacks served and
meal tickets provided.
Completes calculation of calorie/nutrient intakes consistent with approved
research protocols; may assist with the planning of research meals.
