Framingham State Ranked Among Best Colleges in Massachusetts by CollegeChoice.net

Framingham State University placed 15th in a new ranking of the best colleges in Massachusetts put together by CollegeChoice.net, an independent online publication dedicated to helping students and their families find the right college.

The ranking placed FSU first among the nine universities in the Massachusetts State University System. The ranking methodology combines academic quality and return on investment, according to Christian Amondson, the Web site’s managing editor. Academic quality is an aggregate of data points, including student-faculty ratio, test scores, and national reputation. Return on investment is a weight of tuition cost versus expected early career income.

“We get our data all from publicly accessible sources,” Amondson said, specifically citing the National Center for Education Statistics' IPEDS database, Payscale, U.S. News and World Report, and colleges' individual websites.

“This is one of the best universities in Massachusetts for students who are interested in a vibrant campus life,” the publication states in its ranking of Framingham State. “FSU supports more than 60 student clubs and organizations, including student-run media, commuter services, and a full calendar of campus events every academic year. Students can also take part in the Student Involvement and Leadership Development program, an opportunity that was created to give students the chance to prepare to become leaders before moving out into the workforce.”
