Federal Direct PLUS Loans - loans taken out by parents of undergraduate students
In order to borrow a Federal Direct PLUS loan, please follow the steps below:
1). Apply for a Federal PIN#(if you do not already have one).
You can apply for a Federal PIN # by visiting www.pin.ed.gov
2). Apply for the Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan (once your receive your Federal PIN #).
- Go to www.studentloans.gov
- Log into the "Manage My Direct Loans" (located in the upper left hand corner)
- Once you have logged in, click on the Start PLUS Application Process
- Then, click on the Parent PLUS icon
3). Complete your Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan MPN (Master Promissory Note)
- Go to www.studentloans.gov
- Log into the "Manage My Direct Loans" (located in the upper left hand corner)
- Once you have logged in, click on the Complete Master Promissory Note
- Then, click on the Parent PLUS icon and follow the directions to complete your Parent PLUS Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN).
4). Complete your FSU 2011-2012 Direct Plus Request Form
