Framingham State University’s faculty, staff and student Green Team have organized several entertaining and educational events this month to celebrate Earth Day.
The signature event is the Green Festival, scheduled for Wednesday, April 18, at 4:30 p.m. in the McCarthy Center Forum, which will be focused on the theme of “Are we Ready for Climate Change?”
Phillip Griffith, Massachusetts Under-Secretary of Environmental Affairs in the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs will lead a discussion about the state’s Climate Adaptation Plan. Dr. Ellen Douglas, engineer and hydrologist at the University of Massachusetts, will speak to the scientific applications supporting the Plan. Donna Kramer Merritt of the Sierra Club will also be part of the panel. They will be joined for a Q and A panel discussion which will include: Dr. Larry McKenna from Physics and Earth Science, Dr. Doug Seale from Philosophy, Sarah Howe, President of the Green Team, and a member of the recently formed Environmental Science Club.
