Don Spellman is entering his eighth year as head coach of the Rams.  In his first seven seasons, he has guided the Rams to the MASCAC Tournament finals twice.  In his first season with the Rams, the Rams were one of the best defensive teams in New England and reached the MASCAC finals for the second time in school history.  In 2005, Spellman was named the MASCAC Coach of the Year as the Rams finished second in the MASCAC with the best record at FSC since 1991 and once again made it to the conference finals.  Under Coach Spellman,  Framingham is known for its tenacity on defense and its toughness.  As a team the Rams are always among the league and regional leaders in scoring defense and field goal percentage defense.  The Rams finished the 2004-05 season ranked 10th in the nation in field goal percentage defense.  In four years Framingham has taken a major step toward making itself one of the toughest teams to play in New England. Prior to becoming head coach of the Rams, Spellman was an assistant coach at Framingham State for four years.  He has coached at the high school and AAU level throughout Boston since his graduation from Suffolk University where he played his collegiate ball.  He has coached AAU teams with former Boston Celtics Head Coach John Carroll that have won three State and two New England AAU Championships.  He currently resides in West Roxbury with his wife Jeanne and two sons, Sean  and Jeffrey.
