The main goal of the Biology curriculum is to provide students with a broad foundation of knowledge in several key areas including: organismal biology, cell biology, genetics, physiology and evolution. For that reason, all Biology majors are required to complete the core curriculum, which consists of 12 courses. In order to have students become more proficient in a specific area of Biology, the department also offers five concentrations:
- General Biology, (UBIG)
- Wildlife and Environmental Biology, (UBIW)
- Biotechnology and Biomedical Science, (UBIM)
- Biology Secondary Education Teaching, (UBIT)
