Accounting Major (UACG)

Accounting majors study and learn the concepts, procedures and techniques of financial accounting, managerial accounting and related areas such as taxation and auditing. The identification, measurement and recording of events that effect the financial position and changes in financial position of an entity as well as the preparation of financial statements and reports for external and internal decision makers are the foundation of the discipline and are the core content of the major. The accounting program provides students with the preparation for a career in accounting and a foundation for pursuing professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
