The mission of CELTSS is to:
- Promote and assist faculty members' development of their teaching, scholarship, and creativity.
- Support faculty members at all phases of their careers by organizing programs and activities designed to encourage innovative and effective pedagogy.
- Provide mentoring.
- Offer a collegial environment for discussion of all their professional work.
- Support diversity, open inquiry, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
CELTSS supports faculty teaching in the First Year Foundations Program with ongoing professional development workshops. CELTSS also provides faculty funding for such things as travel, research,innovation in teaching, and other small grants.
