Child Development Lab

Mrs. Valerie Hytholt
Director/AM Lead Teacher

Valerie is the Director and AM Lead Teacher. In addition, she will assist with the PM class. Valerie completed Framingham State College's Post Baccalaureate Teacher Education Program in Early Childhood Education. She holds the Initial teaching license in Early Childhood Education (PreK-2) from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. She also holds Lead Teacher and Director certifications from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.

Mrs. Joan (Joni) Theodoss
PM Lead Teacher

Joni is Lead Teacher for the afternoon class and will be assisting with the morning class. She completed Framingham State College's Post Baccalaureate Teacher Education Program in Early Childhood Education. Joni holds the Initial teaching license in Early Childhood Education (PreK-2) from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and she holds Lead Teacher certification from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.

Dr. Marlene Correia
Assistant Professor

Marlene is an Assistant Professor in the Education Department and she supervises the college students in the Lab during their field study experience. She holds a Doctorate in Language Arts and Literacy from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. Marlene has worked for seventeen years as a classroom teacher, special educator, mentor teacher, and university instructor in undergraduate and graduate teacher education. Prior to coming to Framingham State College, Marlene was a Kindergarten teacher for the Dighton-Rehoboth Public Schools. Marlene has presented at local, national, and international conferences and is the co-author of a book on mentoring beginning teachers.
