FSC Students Awarded CINE Golden
Eagle
The Communication Arts Department is
pleased to announce that Michael
Kelly, Joseph Mauro, Katherine
Silva, and Amanda Washer have been
awarded the prestigious
CINE Golden Eagle
for their student documentary
entitled, "MyDocumentary:
A Look Into MySpace".
The
CINE Golden Eagle
award is recognized internationally
as a symbol of the highest
production standards in filmmaking
and videography. CINE (Council on
International Non-theatrical
Events) was founded in 1957 with a
mission to present a realistic view
of the U.S., its people, products,
and philosophy, by showcasing the
best of American film and
television programs to
overseas
audiences. Since then its mission
has broadened considerably and
CINE Golden Eagle
winners include such internationally
recognized artists and
producers/directors as Albert Maysles, Frederick Wiseman, Barbara
Kopple, Charles Guggenheim, and Ken
Burns. Over 300 judges viewed and
evaluated hundreds of distinguished
entries for this year's
competition. A special awards
ceremony will be held in Washington,
DC later this year where the
accomplishments of these students
will be formally recognized.
