Spring Ceremony: Sunday May 17, 2015
Master’s Degree Ceremony will commence at 10:00am

Please fill out the Graduate Candidacy for Graduation/Comprehensive Exam Form (found here) and return it to the Office of Graduate Studies in Dwight Hall, Room 204 or mail the form with your check to the address listed. Rehearsal: There is no rehearsal for the Graduate Commencement.
COMMENCEMENT SECURITY RESTRICTIONS
The following items are prohibited:
- Large bags, back-packs, wrapped gifts, briefcases.
- Firearms, explosives, pepper spray, or other weapons.
- Thermoses, coolers, or other liquid containers except in cases of medical need, as certified by a physician.
- Artificial noisemakers, air horns, or megaphones.
- Large signs, flags, poles, banners, or laser pointers.
- Promotional items with commercial slogans or identifications.
- Food or drinks.
- Alcoholic beverages, drugs, or illegal substances.
Handbags and purses of normal size will be allowed, but are subject to visual inspection upon entry.
Guests may be subject to search of their person and/or possessions.

Guest Accommodations: Seating for guests will be "open". This means that tickets will not be required for your guests to gain admittance to the commencement exercises. Caps and gowns: All Students must appear in full academic regalia in order to participate in the ceremony. The cost is approximately $26.00. All orders can be placed online, and your cap and gown will be mailed to your home. Please order your cap and gown at your earliest convenience, allowing at least two weeks prior to the ceremony for delivery.

*The cost of the full academic regalia, if purchased on campus, is $24.19. University Cap and Gown accepts cash or check.
On Commencement Day, please wear your cap and gown. Mortar boards should be worn squarely on the head (not tilting backwards) and your tassel should be on the left. You will carry your hood, draped over your left arm, into the ceremony as you proceed in, you will be hooded by your Program Coordinator before you cross the stage to get your diploma.
Parking: Graduate and guest parking will be in the Normal Hill Parking Lot and the Parking Deck behind the library. To access the lot, take North University Way. The Village Green is located approximately one half mile from the Framingham State University Campus. A continuous shuttle bus will run between the University and the Village Green for anyone who wants a ride to the ceremony. (Note: In the event the Normal Hill parking lot is full, please park in Maynard Lot.)
Check-in: Check-in will begin at 9:00am sharp in front of the Jonathan Maynard Building across from the Village Green. You must check in by 9:40am in order to participate in the ceremony. Please arrive promptly! The Commencement Ceremony will begin promptly at 10:00 am.
Hooding: Graduate Program Coordinators will formally place the master's hood on each graduate before you cross the stage.
Diplomas: When you step down from the stage, you will be handed your diploma.
Photos: A professional photographer will take individual photos of each graduate as you are hooded and a second photo will be taken as you shake hands with the President of the University. You will receive a secure link to view your photos via email within 48-72 hours and also be mailed a paper copy of your proofs on an order form via US mail. The university will instruct you as to where you will provide your information to ensure you receive your proofs. Please note, everyone will be photographed and there is absolutely no obligation to purchase.
Reception: Immediately following Commencement, there will be a reception for students, family and friends. Location is TBA.
A note about participation: Prior to graduation, you must have satisfied degree requirements and any outstanding debts to the University. Financial aid recipients must complete an exit interview. Students with Perkins Loans are notified by mail of the exit interview dates. Students with Stafford Loans and No-Interest Loans must contact Ms. Traci Hickey in the Financial Aid Office, McCarthy Center, 508-626-4536, to make sure all paperwork is complete.
