Students typically come to the Center for many different reasons. Counseling may be of help to you if you are experiencing problems with any of the following: (this is not an exhaustive list)
- Difficulty with concentration, motivation, attention,
or organizing your time - Anxiety, depression, loneliness
- Adjusting to college and being away from home
- Test anxiety
- Concerns about relationships
- Being stressed out by all the demands of college life
- Concern about your substance use or
substance use issues in your family - Wanting to be more assertive or improve your self-confidence
- Wanting to improve your family relationships
- Questions about your sexuality
- Not feeling like your "old" self
- Dealing with your parent's divorce
- Eating too much or too little
- Having suicidal thoughts or behaviors
- Grieving over the death of someone close to you
- Difficulty taking care of your normal "day to day" life
- Sleep problems
- Having issues with self-injury
- Worrying about the well being of someone close to you
- Recovering from unwanted sexual contact or violence
- Problems with gambling or other addictions
- Carrying a secret that you've never told anyone,
but wish you could - An unplanned pregnancy
- Other personal problems
