Framingham State College to Offer MBA Degree
Beginning September 2007

The Massachusetts Board of Higher Education has authorized Framingham State College to offer a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.

The new MBA program becomes the only such program to be offered by a public college in the MetroWest region.

Surveys of area businesses and prospective and current students indicated the need for a comprehensive and affordable MBA program to serve the large number of professionals in the region. According to Ted Welte, President and CEO of the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce, “Framingham State College has an outstanding history serving the educational needs of our region. The new MBA program builds upon this tradition; the affordability and accessibility of a local MBA program offered by a state college will be invaluable to employers and their workforce. The business community recognizes the MBA degree as an important credential, one that will have increasing value for our region, as we prepare for the increasingly global, technological and service-driven economy of the future.”

The Framingham State College MBA program consists of 12 courses/48 credits. It will be one of the most affordable programs in the state, providing excellent value for prospective students and the business community.

Framingham State College offers 25 undergraduate and 23 graduate degree programs, with a population of 5874 students, including over 2,000 graduate students.
