Environmental Health & Safety Office 2004 Recycling Update The College continues to recycle paper and corrugated cardboard. Over the last 9 months, almost 28 tons of mixed paper has been recycled at Framingham State College. Additionally, tons of corrugated cardboard have also been diverted from local landfills. MIXED paper that is recycled from offices and computer labs can be any type of paper product that is generated in a workplace. This includes: white paper, colored paper, newspapers, magazines, junk mail, copy paper wrappers and phone books. TRASH is any kind of food product container. For example, coffee cups and paper plates are NOT recyclable. Please do not place any food products in the recycling bins. Corrugated cardboard continues to be recycled at the College as well. Again, any cardboard associated with food products is NOT recyclable. No packing material is recyclable. On occasion, recycled material must be disposed of as trash due to contamination. To remedy this, please do not throw any food or drink product container in any recycling container. If you have any questions, please contact Maureen Bagge Fowler in the Facilities Department. |
