Dr. Diane Lowe is the elementary literacy specialist in the Education Department.  She teaches 14.322 The Child and Literacy with Field Study II and serves as the advisor to Alpha Upsilon Alpha, the honor society of the International Reading Association.  Dr. Lowe is coordinator of and advisor to the graduate Literacy and Language program.  She received the FSC Distinguished Faculty Award in 2006. 

Dr. Lowe is active in many professional literacy organizations and has served as president of several: Nobscot Reading Council, MACURE (Massachusetts Association of College and University Educators), and the Massachusetts Reading Association.
