program at Framingham State College earn Bachelor of Science Degrees in
Fashion Design and Retailing concentrating in apparel design or
merchandising.
Our merchandising graduates are recruited
by many national companies, including: TJ Maxx, Marshall's,
Home Goods and AJ Wright; Talbot's, Macy's, Frugal Fannies, BJ's
Wholesale Club,
StrideRite, Crate n' Barrel, Talbot's and many more.

Students concentrating in Merchandising, often minor in
business, communications, or art. An Internship in
Merchandising is required of all merchandising students.
There are many opportunities for corporate
and management internships in Eastern Massachusetts. StrideRite, TJX Corporation, Talbot’s,
Designs, Wearguard, Frugal Fannies, Reebox, and many more retail companies have their
corporate offices in our area. The Boston Design Center, for those
interested in home furnishings, is located just east of Framingham State
College. For those entrepreneurs, who would like to intern with
merchants and small business owners, there are regional,
community, and neighborhood malls, as well as
independent retail sites located near the College.

Mr. &
Mrs. Aaron Feuerenstein, CEO and owner of Malden Mills in Lawrence, MA, and
Dr. Irene M. Foster in Dallas, Texas for the American Association of Family
and Consumer Sciences Annual meeting. Mr. Feuerenstein received the Friend of
the Family Award and Dr. Foster was honored with the Wiley-Berger Outstanding
Volunteer Award.
