Academic Lite™, an adaptation of Buyer’s Toolbox from ANTUSA, Inc., was
chosen by Framingham State College Fashion Merchandising professors as
an aid to teach retail planning.
Founded in 1991, ANT USA is the leading supplier of Ready-to-Plan
Merchandise Planning, Assortment and Store Planning and SKU Reporting/Forecasting software for the specialty retail chains.
In collaboration with Dmitry Goykman, President ANTUSA, Inc., Lily Goykman,
VP Engineering, and Ron Fleischer, Planning and Allocation Systems
Specialist, Dr. Irene Foster developed The Planning Workbook© to use with
the software and incorporated it into the Fashion Merchandising: Planning,
Policies, and Implementation course. |

| Dr. Foster presented “Selecting a Computer Program as an aid for Teaching
Assortment Planning” at the ACRA meeting in New York, January 2000. She
adopted Academic Lite for use in Fashion Merchandising: Planning, Policies, and
Implementation class to teach assortment planning, ladder planning, and analysis of plans. In June 2000, at
AAFCS, “Using Technology to Teach Ladder
Planning” was presented. |
“Teaching Ladder and Assortment
Plans Using an Adaptation of Industry Software: Academic
Lite” was
presented at International Textiles and Apparel Association in Cincinnati,
November 2000.

| After implementing and experiencing Academic Lite for two years, Dr. Foster
presented "Teaching Retail
Planning" at the Massachusetts Education
Computing Conference in Boston, Massachusetts, June 2001. |
Other universities and colleges, currently using Academic Lite™, include
Auburn University and Kent State.
