COURSE DESCRIPTION
A case methods course using real situations from
existing textile, apparel, home furnishings and retail companies.
Decision making using facts and concepts exhibited in each case is
emphasized. Underscored are factors such as executive responsibilities,
ethics, consequences, and pressures in the work place. Field trips are an
integral part of this course.
Prerequisite: 34.251 Fashion Merchandising:
Theory & Distribution
COURSE OBJECTIVES
1. The student will develop a personal system for
case preparation.
2. The student will develop methods for reading a
case efficiently.
3. The student will analyze and prepare cases for
discussion
4. The student will communicate analysis of cases in
written and oral form.
5. The student will observe selected industry
examples through field trips.
