with a concentration in Literacy and Language
is approved by the Massachusetts
Department
of Education (DOE) for the Initial license as Specialist Teacher:
Reading (All Levels). The program is also approved to
advance an Initial license in Early Childhood, Elementary, or Moderate
Disabilities (PreK-8, 5-12) to
Professional status. The degree may also be used to advance an Initial
license in English Language Learners, Teacher of Students with Severe
Disabilities, Teacher of the Visually Impaired, and Teacher of the Deaf
and
Hard-of-Hearing to Professional status using the 12 credit option. The
licensure application process varies,
depending
on your licensure goals. Please read each option carefully; then click
on the arrow next to the one that matches your licensure goal(s).
