Framingham State College offers
an approved program that leads to the Initial license as Teacher of
Students with
Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8 or 5-12). The program includes the M.Ed.
with a concentration in Special Education and a Practicum experience.
The degree may also be used to
advance an Initial license in Early Childhood or Elementary to
Professional status. The licensure application process varies,
depending
on your licensure goals. Please read each option below carefully and
choose the one that matches your licensure goal(s).
1. I do not hold a
Massachusetts
license (or I hold a Preliminary license in any area except Moderate
Disabilities). I want to obtain my first
Initial license.
2. I hold the Preliminary
license as Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8 or
5-12). I want to advance
that license to the Initial level.
3. I hold a license at the
Initial level. I want to add
the Teacher of Students with Moderate
Disabilities (PreK-8 or 5-12) license.
4. I hold a license at the
Professional level (formerly called Standard). I want to add
the
Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8 or 5-12) license
at the Professional level.
5. I hold the Initial
license
in Early Childhood or Elementary. I want to advance
that license to
Professional status.
6. I hold the Initial license
in Early Childhood or Elementary. I want to advance
that license
to Professional status AND add the Teacher of Students with Moderate
Disabilities (PreK-8) license.
