The list below will guide
you through the steps you need to
complete in order to obtain your Initial license in n Early Childhood:
Teacher of Students With and Without Disabilities (PreK-2).
1. Complete
the Information Needed for Electronic Endorsement form
and return it to your
Student Teaching College Supervisor. If you've already graduated,
please return the form directly to
Carol Nichols (Dwight 302). This form includes the information needed
by the
Licensure Officer to endorse your application for your Initial license.
2. Order
your transcript from the Registrar's Office at Framingham State
College. Authorize the Registrar to send it directly to the
Massachusetts Department of
Education at:

3. Order transcripts from
other degree conferring institution(s) and request that they be sent
directly to the Massachusetts Department of Education at the address
listed above.
4. Go to the DOE web site and
establish an ELAR
profile for yourself if you haven't already created one. Select the
Create ELAR Profile
link in the
bottom left corner of the login box to get started.
5. Once your ELAR account is
established, apply for your New license
in Early Childhood: Teacher of
Students With
and Without Disabilities (PreK-2) at the Initial level.

Type: Initial
6. Any candidate who has a
name change through marriage, divorce or other legal proceeding while
in the licensure program must submit a copy of valid evidence of the
change (e.g. marriage license) to the Department of Education at
the
above address.
The Licensure Officer completes
the electronic endorsement of
candidates who have completed the program approximately three to four
weeks after the graduation dates in May, August and December. To
expedite your endorsement (and licensure processing), please make sure
you have applied for your license in a timely manner. You are
encouraged to apply during your final weeks of student teaching.
