Scientific Notation Tutorials

Some sites on the web that let you practice scientific (a.k.a. powers-of-10) notation.

http://janus.astro.umd.edu/astro/scinote.html - Short description of scientific notation, and individual practice problems you can keep working on forever (or till you're bored).

http://www.ieer.org/clssroom/scinote.html - Long description, and a link to a long worksheet with the answers at the bottom.  More cumbersome than the above, but the detail may be good if you feel really shaky with scientific notation.

http://www.factmonster.com/ipka/A0876783.html - Clear and concise explanation of scientific notation.  No problems to work on, though

There are many more sites out there - some are good, some aren't so good.  I found these (and almost 50,000 others) by doing a search for "scientific notation".  If you happen to know of another site you think is useful, let me know so I can pass it on to other people!
