The Core Program Classes (15 hours per week)
Provide a solid foundation for developing basic, intermediate, or advanced English language skills. Through dynamic classroom presentations and practice, students will be given opportunities to become more fluent and accurate in their use and comprehension of written and spoken English.  Small class-sizes and tutoring sessions will ensure students receive specialized attention to help them improve reading, writing, grammar, listening, and speaking skills for improved social enjoyment and academic advancement.

When:  Monday-Friday 8:30am to 11:30am
Cost:   $2,500

1/2 Core Reading and Writing (7.5 hours per week)
Students will practice and improve their reading skills through exposure to various forms of literature from textbooks and “real-world” writing samples.  They will also learn to write well-structured sentences, paragraphs, and, eventually, essays. This class has three levels: basic, intermediate, and advanced.

When: Monday and Wednesday, 8:30am-11:30am and
         Friday, 8:30am-10:00am
Cost:   $1,300

1/2 Core Listening and Speaking (7.5 hours per week)
Students will improve their conversational and academic listening skills. Speaking skills will advance through guided conversations, debates, presentations, role-playing, and much more. This class has three levels: basic, intermediate, and advanced.

When: Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30am-11:30am and
           Friday, 10:00am-11:30am
Cost:   $1,300

Core + A Program (21 hours per week)
Designed for students seeking rapid progress in improving their English skills. Includes the Full Core Program Classes and one Session A Skill Building course; course placement is determined after testing.

When:  Monday-Friday 8:30am to 11:30am and
           Monday/Wednesday/Friday 12:30pm to 2:30pm
Cost:   $3,100

Core + B Program (19 hours per week)
Designed for students seeking rapid progress in improving their English skills. Includes the Full Core Program Classes and one Session B Skill Building course; course placement is determine after testing.

When:  Monday-Friday 8:30am to 11:30am and
           Tuesday/Thursday 12:30pm to 2:30pm
Cost:   $2,950

Core + A & B Program (25 hours per week)
Designed for students seeking the greatest opportunity  for improving their English skills through intensive study and practice. Includes the Full Core Program Classes, one A, and one B Skill Building course; course placement is determined after testing.

When:  Monday-Friday 8:30am to 11:30am and 12:30pm to 2:30pm

Skill Building Courses
Provides opportunity for students to build on skills developed in the core classes, or, for students with limited time, provides a daytime class that is less intensive.  Designed to target a variety of language skills and different English abilities. Students choosing the Full Core Program must choose one session A and one session B course. F-1 students must choose at least one.

Skill Building A (6 hours per week)
When:  Monday/Wednesday/Friday 12:30pm to 2:30pm
Cost     $750

TOEFL Preparation
Provides opportunity for students to achieve advanced skills in English as they learn strategies for approaching each section of the TOEFL exam. Increase knowledge of various test-taking strategies and learn listening, grammar, and reading skills to meet requirements of the Institutional  (paper-based exam) TOEFL exam. Some skills and strategies for the written essay and speaking sections of the iBT TOEFL are also covered. The Institutional TOEFL is administered at the end of each semester.

Improving English through American Literature
Intended for intermediate level students: Improving writing and grammar skills and increasing vocabulary will be essential parts of this class. Students will read, discuss, and write about a selection of short, authentic American fiction and non-fiction books. Students will learn about some of the most important events in the history of New England and the United States, and improve language skills at the same time.

English for Cultural Connections-2
Intended for intermediate to advanced students:  This is a wholistic language (reading, writing, conversation, vocabulary) class that emphasizes English in the context of everyday living; business and workplace environment; current events; and American cultural traditions. While focusing on improving clarity of speech, students will have opportunity to build confidence in their communication skills through practicing conversation, debating, making presentations, role-playing, and much more.

Skill Building B (4 hours per week)
When:  Tuesday/Thursday 12:30pm to 2:30pm
Cost     $600

English for Cultural Connections-1
Intended for high beginner to intermediate level students: This is a wholistic language (reading, writing, conversation, vocabulary) class that emphasizes English in the context of everyday living; business and workplace environment; current events; and American cultural traditions.
