Join Framingham State University Foods and Nutrition faculty for a culinary exploration of Italy, May 23-June 3, 2011!

VeronaYou will have the opportunity to see and taste local food production in and around Verona (pictured), Venice and Florence.  Learn about the Slow Food Movement and the Mediterranean Diet, and traditional regional foods.  Explore the three cities of Italy during free time and experience the foods of Italy more fully.

We will stay in Verona (think Romeo and Juliet) and Florence (think Medici family).  Excursions include traditional production sites for olive oil, balsamic vinegar and tortellini.  In Florence, we’ll accompany a chef to the market and purchase ingredients for a cooking lesson and lunch.

You may enroll in NUTR 350 Study Tour or NUTR 950 Study Tour for credit, or just join us in our exploration of Italian cuisine and the Slow Food Movement.
