Teacher Licensure Concentration

The teacher preparation program concentration in Health and Family and Consumer Sciences provides wider career opportunities, while maintaining both disciplines' mission to promote and improve the health and well-being of individuals and families.  Students who successfully complete this concentration will be eligible to receive the new license in Health and Family and Consumer Sciences.   

This concentration is offered in the undergraduate and post-baccalaureate programs. There is reduced out-of-state tuition for (CT, RI, ME and NH) students.

Career Opportunities for students who graduate with  a Teacher Licensure Concentration:

•   Educator working with clinical and industrial health care programs
•   Health programs for hospitals, HMO's and private clubs
•   Specialist/Director- Consumer /Health Affairs
•   Director- Elder Services or Preschool Education programs
•   Education specialist for non-profit organizations or community programs
