How Do I Retrieve Reserve Readings?
Reserves are books or articles or other types of materials that are placed on reserve by faculty only in order to facilitate their use for specific assignments. There are two main types of reserves: traditional (or paper) reserves and electronic reserves.
To Access Traditional Reserves:
- Closed reserves and Overnight reserves are checked out to your library card. Closed reserves can only be used in the Library and can be kept up to 2 hours. Overnight reserves can be taken out overnight after 4:00 PM and need to be returned by 10:00 AM the next day. (Or on Monday morning if checked out on Friday afternoon or on the weekend). Prior to that time they are treated as Closed reserves. Closed or Overnight reserves get returned to the Circulation desk to be checked in.
- Open reserves are kept on the shelves outside of the Reference room. They do not need to be checked out, but can only be used in that area.
To Access Electronic Reserves:
- Electronic Reserves are found in individual course sites in Blackboard.
