Dr. Maria Bollettino is the 2014 recipient of the Framingham State University Distinguished Faculty Award in Excellence in Teaching.
Dr. Sarah Mulhall Adelman's article "Empowerment and Submission: The Political Culture of Catholic Women's Religious Communities in Nineteenth-Century America," which she published in the Journal of Women's History in September 2011, has been awarded the American Society of Church History's Jane Dempsey Douglass Prize for 2012. Dr. Richard Allen has been awarded a prestigious National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship for the 2012-13 academic year to complete a major project on European slave trading in the Indian Ocean from 1500 to 1850. The fellowship, one of only 80 awarded in a national competition that considered 1,339 applications, will permit him to continue a program of archival research in Britain, France, and Mauritius and complete a book-length manuscript that will be the first comprehensive study of British, Dutch, French, and Portuguese slave trading in the Indian Ocean world.
