State Ethics Statute: New Requirements
On September 29, 2009, the State Ethics Statute was amended to impose on all state agencies, and on all employees (paid and unpaid) of the college, affirmative obligations that are designed to ensure that no state employee is ignorant of any statutory requirement pertaining to ethical standards or conflicts of interest.
Each year the college will distribute electronically to all employees a summary description of the Statute between September 15th and December 15th. Every employee must acknowledge receipt of the summary, either electronically or in paper form.
In addition, no later than April 2, 2010, every employee must complete the online training program that is posted on the State Ethics Commission's website. Every employee must then provide to the College a certificate of completion of the training. This certificate is generated at the end of the online program.
For more information about your obligations under this new statute, please call the Office of Human Resources at ext. 4530.
Please check back here periodically for additional news and announcements from the Office of Human Resources.
