The Office of Human Resources is pleased to announce our 2011/2012 professional development workshops.

Customer Service Excellence: Reaching Down Deep
Monday, February 13, 2012 from 10 am – Noon, 1839 Room, College Center

Everyone knows and appreciates excellent customer service when they receive it; and most of us want to give excellent service ourselves. Knowing how to provide such service in this fast paced, highly stressed world can be difficult. Today’s customers don’t always make it easy. Participants will learn skills for providing 5-star service in person and on the telephone, strategies for dealing with difficult customers, and tips for providing excellent service even when they don’t feel like it.

This is a 2 hour seminar that utilizes a variety of methods, including discussion, lecture, role-play, exercises and handouts.  Trainer:  Cally Ritter, AllOne Health.

Motivating and Mentoring Your Employees
Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 10 am – Noon, 1839 Room, College Center

Without motivated employees, your workplace suffers. In fact, the survival of your organization depends on it.

What can you do as a manager to inspire motivation? This seminar identifies key ingredients to promote a culture where employees thrive. In part two, mentoring will be introduced as a powerful HR strategy to support ongoing learning and keep your employees challenged. Participants will also look at how to create a mentoring program for their organization.

This is a 2 hour seminar for managers and supervisors that utilize a variety of methods, including discussion, lecture, role-play, exercises and handouts.  Trainer – Will Brown, AllOne Health.

New Employee Orientation/ Discrimination and Sexual Harassment Prevention
February 14, 2012 & June 4, 2012- PCRII, Dwight Hall

NEOP – 9:00am-12:00pm, Discrimination and Sexual Harassment Prevention- 1:00pm- 4:00pm

The Human Resources Office, in collaboration with the Information Technology Services and Campus Police, offers a New Employee Orientation Program (“NEOP”) on a quarterly basis.  NEOP is designed to help acquaint new employees to Framingham State by providing them with information that they may not have received upon hire.  Some of the topics we cover includes information about benefits, the University Portal, policies and procedures, and other resources that are available to staff and faculty.  We also give participants the opportunity to ask questions and to meet other employees who are also “new” to the University.  Feel free to join us, even if you are not new to the University, but would like a refresher about your benefits!  Trainers - Jacquie Kittler and Christopher Spencer from the Human Resources Office, Deborah Saks from the Information Technology Department, and Officer Peter Trachtenberg from Campus Police.

The second half of the day will be a workshop on Discrimination and Sexual Harassment Prevention.  New employees, and employees who have did not attend this training last academic year, are strongly encouraged to attend this workshop.   Trainers – Jacquie Kittler, Erin Nechipurenko from the Human Resources Office.

We hope you will join us for one, or more, of these sessions.  To register, please email Jacquie Kittler at jkittler@framingham.edu with the title and date of the training you will be attending.  Before responding, please obtain your supervisor’s approval to attend.
