Framingham State College has 56 technology enhanced classrooms. Students often make use of the technology available during class as part of technology facilitated activities and as part of presentations they might give. Students are also encouraged to use the technology in classrooms when there is no class is session and according to the schedule posted on the door for each location.
Each technology enhanced classroom is classified based on the technology available in the room:
Tier 1: Mobile Rear Projection "Smart Boards" including; networked PC, laptop connection, wireless network access, VCR, overhead LCD rear projection, and simple document camera (depending on room).
Tier 2: Basic Technology Enhanced Classrooms; networked PC, laptop connection, wireless network access, VCR, overhead LCD rear projection, and simple document camera.
Tier 3: Basic Technology Enhanced Classrooms with "Smart Boards"; networked PC, laptop connection, wireless network access, VCR, DVD, overhead LCD rear projection, audio cassette recorder/player and simple document camera.
Tier 4: Most Advanced Technology Enhanced Classrooms; video and audio conferencing; smart board, audio cassette recorder/player, 3 ceiling mounted LCD projection (for 3 outputs), video camera projection, document camera, networked PC, laptop connection, wireless network access, VCR and DVD.
