FRAMINGHAM - With a breeding pair of red-tailed hawks taking up residency in the center of campus, a group of enterprising biology students decided to improve campus awareness about the birds.
Motivated in part by the many reports of the raptors' presence and their highly visible activities on campus, members of the Wildlife Club compiled an educational flyer for those wishing to learn more about the birds’ life cycle, territorial habits, diet, and other behaviors. The students also shared resources for further reading.
FSU ornithologist and biology department professor Dr. Brandi Van Roo expressed her pride in members of the club, who, she noted, saw an informational need and stepped up to the task with the development of the flyer, which will be shared widely around campus.
