It is very important that students retain and refer to the college catalog of their year of enrollment at FSC. This catalog describes all the graduation requirements of students entering that academic year. Should course requirements change between a student's enrollment year and year of graduation, the student will not be expected to meet the new requirements.
The requirements of the psychology major are clearly detailed in the catalog. This is only a brief overview of the basic requirements. (Refer to the college undergraduate catalog for General Education requirements.)
Core Psychology Requirements:
PSYC 101 General Psychology
PSYC 251 Psychological Research I: Methods *
PSYC 351 Psychological Research II: Design & Statistical Applications *
PSYC 450 Empirical Research Thesis in Psychology
PSYC 402 History & Systems in Psychology
* A minimum passing grade of C- is required in these two courses to continue in the sequence.
It is now official! We have a Psi Chi Chapter on campus. For more information about what this means and how to apply for membership in this honor society, contact Dr. Bailey.
There are two sections of General Psychology designated as Foundation classes this Fall. New students, psych majors or not, consider signing up for either of these classes or others (the dark bars in the course offering pamphlet)!
These course sections require an extra hour per week of class meetings, but they are fun, informative, and a great way to get connected to the campus and be aware of what FSC has to offer!
