Letter from the Director
Dear Resident Student,
On behalf of Framingham State College and the
Office of Residence Life and Housing staff, I would like to welcome you as a
member of the 2007-2008 residence hall community.
The College, in collaboration with the
Massachusetts State College Building Authority, has invested a great deal of
time and money in residence hall renovations and improvements. These upgrades
are for your benefit as well as for the benefit of future students. We ask, and
expect, that members of the community will exercise care in the treatment of the
residence halls.
Your involvement in the College and residence
hall community can greatly enhance your college experience. The Residence Life
staff strives to facilitate a community environment which fosters student
learning and personal development, and values diversity. The responsibility for
creating positive living and learning environments, however, must be shared by
all residents. Further, these goals require residents to be open to living
cooperatively and working actively to cultivate a climate conducive to academic
pursuit and respect for all. We look forward to your support and
participation.
This guide is provided so that you may become
familiar with the policies, procedures, and information relative to residential
life at Framingham State College. Please read this guide carefully and keep it
on hand for easy reference.
We look forward to a
successful year!
Sincerely,
Glenn A. Cochran
Associate Dean of Student Affairs/Director of Residence Life
