IV. The Residence Halls
Framingham State College has six
residence halls. Corinne Hall Towers is an eleven-story co-ed hall housing
approximately 500 students in single and double rooms. The 11th floor houses the
First Year Honors Floor. Horace Mann is a co-ed residence hall housing
approximately 120 students. The majority of the rooms in Horace Mann are
singles. Larned Hall is a co-ed residence hall housing approximately 340
students. The First Year Experience Program is on the second floor of Larned,
while the 6th floor is designated as a Quiet Floor. Linsley Hall is a co-ed
residence hall housing approximately 160 students. Linsley Hall offers
traditional double occupancy rooms, as well as upper-classmen suite-style
housing. Six or eight person suites are available. O'Connor Hall houses
approximately 260 female students in doubles and multiple-occupancy rooms.
Peirce Hall offers housing for approximately 120 female students. It has a few
doubles and adjoining rooms, but the majority of the rooms are single occupancy.
Most residence halls are equipped with limited kitchen facilities (e.g.
microwave, kitchenette, etc.) to provide residents with cooking privileges. To
use these facilities, students may be required to sign out the kitchen key at
the front desk, leaving a picture identification card with the Security Desk
Attendant. Students are responsible for kitchen cleanliness and can be assessed
damage charges accordingly. For fire and safety reasons, students may not leave
the kitchen area unattended at any time while cooking.
All residence halls have laundry rooms with card or coin operated washers and
dryers. Because machines are shared with other students, laundry should be
removed as soon as a cycle is completed. It is recommended that students do not
leave items unattended in the laundry room. Washing machines may not be used for
dyeing or any other activity which may damage the machines. MacGray is the
company who provides laundry service in the residence halls. Any problems with
machines may be reported to MacGray at 1-800-MAC-GRAY.
There are furnished, informal lounges for residents and their guests which vary
according to building. Many recreation areas are furnished with ping pong
tables, televisions, and VCRs, DVD players.
