Alpha Kappa Delta Honor Society

Alpha Kappa Delta is the International Sociological Honor Society. Founded in 1920 in the Department of Sociology at the University of Southern California, there are now over 300 chapters in sociology departments at colleges and universities across the U.S. and internationally.

In order to receive an invitation to become part of the Framingham State AKD chapter, students must have completed at least four Sociology courses at Framingham State College and must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher and a GPA of 3.3 or higher in the major. These select students are honored each spring through a formal initiation ceremony.
