Office of Multicultural Affairs
Mission
The Office of Multicultural Affairs seeks to promote an environment that is
culturally aware, supportive and understanding. The office serves as a
resource to Framingham State College students, inside and outside the classroom
to enhance their academic, cultural, and personal growth and development,
through intentional and passive programming; as well as, group and individual
interactions. The Office of Multicultural Affairs is a branch of the
Department of Academic Support and Student Affairs and assists in maintaining a
college climate that celebrates the cultural differences of its students,
faculty and staff and continues to improve the multicultural quality of life for
the entire college community.
Getting Involved
There are many avenues that a student can use to get involved in
multicultural affairs and with the campus at large.
AMIGOS
This organization is dedicated to promoting Latino culture across campus and
throughout the community with social and cultural events.

BLACK STUDENT UNION (BSU)
This organization celebrates Black culture on campus and in the community.
The organization will educate students and faculty about the cultural traditions
o people of the African Diaspora. The Black Student Union will also serve
as a resource center to develop and maintain equitable relations between its
members and the entire College community.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT UNION (ISU)
The organization brings students together who wish to share and broaden their
knowledge of different cultural backgrounds and experiences; and those willing
to share their culture and heritage with all students of Framingham State
College.

UNITED VOICES OF PRAISE (UVP)*
Gospel music is an expansion of these negro spirituals and depends on the full
expressiveness of the human voice. This group helps build self-esteem and
character of young adults through music.
