When is Orientation and Registration?
Orientation and registration for new
first year students will take place in June, 2007. Accepted students
will receive information regarding specific dates and times. Students must participate
in the entire program in order to register for Fall 2007 classes.
Where do I check in?
Check-in takes place in the lobby of
O'Connor Hall on State Street. Members
of the Black & Gold Orientation team will be available to offer directions
and assistance as you arrive on campus.
Who are the Black & Gold Orientation Leaders?
The Black
& Gold Orientation Team is comprised of current students
who are outstanding leaders in academics and who are involved
in campus life at Framingham State College. They are trained to
help you make a smooth transition to the College.
Will meals be provided?
Muffins
and coffee are available at check-in. First year students will be
provided with lunch and a buffet style dinner at the conclusion of the
program.
Can I bring my parents, other family members, or guests?
We have a Parent/Guest program
designed specifically for the parents and guests of our new
students. Parents and guests will have the opportunity to meet
various administrators and faculty members, talk with department
directors, take a tour of the campus, and have their questions
answered. Parents and guests will spend the day attending sessions
designed for them, while students will attend their own
separate program.
What about placement testing?
Entering
students must have completed placement testing prior to Orientation
and Registration. If you have not, and do not have a scheduled
time to do so, please contact the Placement Testing Coordinator at
(508) 626-4905.
Is there a fee for Orientation?
There is no separate charge for
student orientation. There is a $35.00 per person Parent/Guest
fee.
If I have a disability, how do I request
accommodations during the Orientation/Registration program?
Individuals with disabilities who
require accommodations including accompaniment by a Personal Care
Assistant, sign language interpreter, or assistance with
communications, must notify the Orientation and First-Year Program
Office of those needs in advance at (508) 626-4637.
