Technology Carts

The technology carts are mobile audio-visual carts that have an LCD projector, document camera, powered speaker, VCR/DVD player and audio cassette player, and a 25-foot cable that will connect to your laptop. This long cable will give you the flexibility of using your laptop anywhere in the room (within a 25 foot radius of the cart). There is no laptop on the cart so you must provide your own. If you do not have a laptop, any faculty or staff member can temporarily sign one out from the Laptop Helpdesk with 24 hour advance notice.

The technology carts are located in each academic building. The sign-out procedure for the technology carts is the same as for TVs and VCRs. Faculty members should contact the building secretary to sign up for a technology cart on a given day, at a certain time, and in a particular room. It is incumbent on the faculty member to get the key to the building storage area from the secretary, pick up the technology cart and roll it to the classroom. At the conclusion of the class, the faculty member must return the technology cart to the closet and the key to the building secretary.

Faculty can access the technology carts through the building secretaries in the following locations:

Building # Units Location Secretary/Person Responsible Phone #
College Center 1 3rd Floor Cage   4092
Dwight Hall 1 Athletic Center Michele Cunningham 4614
Hemenway Hall 2 212A Lois Oak 4750
Hemenway Hall 1 111A Kathleen Kelly 4700
May Hall 2 2nd/3rd Floor Storage Karen Woo 4801
Whittemore Library 1 210 Margie Sudmyer 4683

Faculty wishing to use a technology cart after hours should contact the Faculty/Staff Helpdesk 24 hours in advance for set up and returns from the evening ITS staff.

For directions on how to use the technology carts, please visit http://its.frc.mass.edu/.
