World Languages Department students have the opportunity for service learning, internships and other professional engagements and community involvement through international trips. For example, travelling with World Languages Department professors to Latin American countries where students are able to engage and participate in community-service programs while at the same time they expand their cultural horizons and employ their second language skills. Additionally, we have in place several Internships specifically with:
- Metrowest Medical Center Columbia Campus, Framingham
- Danforth Museum
- local District Courts
- Barbieri School
We have a long tradition of sending students to work as teacher aides at the Barbieri Elementary School bilingual programs. These relationships allowed our students to expand both their knowledge of the language and their practical experience in using the language in a very needed way within the community.
