I went to Amherst College, receiving my bachelors in sociology Summa Cum Laude in 1991.  I then earned my masters and Ph.D. in sociology at Northwestern University.

Following three years as Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology at Wellesley College, I came to Framingham State College in 2002.  I am currently Associate Professor of Sociology.
