First-Generation Friday

Friday, October 19, 2018
8:00 AM - 5:30 PM
McCarthy Center Campus Forum
Framingham State University

What does it mean to be first-generation?

  • Students who are first in their family to attend college.
  • Students who have parents/guardians who did not graduate from college or who do not have a bachelors degree (even if your siblings have attended college before you, you are still considered a first generation college student).
  • Students whose social networks, including relatives and friends, did not graduate from college.

Do you wonder what you student actually does all day? Or how university life is different from high school life? Come join us for our first First-Generation Friday to find out. You will not only see campus in a different way, but also find out information that will help you help your student, including student panel discussions and classroom visits. This event is open to family members of current first-generation students at Framingham State.
