Football and Men's Soccer Win MASCAC Championships

The Framingham State University football and men’s soccer teams finished as champions of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Association (MASCAC) this fall and will play in their respective NCAA tournaments.

The soccer team beat Salem State University 1-0 to win its first conference championship since 2011. The Rams didn’t let up a single goal during the conference tournament, which earned Goalkeeper Corey Davidge MVP honors. Junior Bryce Nardizzi led the team in points this season with 9 goals and 7 assists, followed by freshman standout Gustavo Cassermiro, who finished with 9 goals and 5 assists.

The team will travel to New York to face Messiah in the NCAA Tournament on November 16th.

The football team clinched the MASCAC Championship with a 40-20 victory over Bridgewater State University, continuing a decade-long run of dominance that has seen them finish as conference champions or co-champions 9 times. The team is led on offense by senior quarterback Adam Wojenski, and freshman running back Devaun Ford, while sophomore Cully Curran and junior Joshua Onujiogu anchor the defense.

The team wraps up its regular season versus Worcester State on Nov. 16th before learning who they will face in the NCAA tournament.
