Framingham State Named a Top College for Business Majors in Massachusetts

Jun 5, 2017

Zippia, a web site dedicated to helping recent college grads with their careers, has named Framingham State University as one of the best colleges in Massachusetts for business majors.

The site used data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), as well as College Scorecard data available on ed.gov, to understand what business departments offer the best career opportunities. Criteria that was examined included mean earnings for graduates after six and ten years, the percentage of the graduating class that are business majors, admission rates, graduation rates, the average cost of attendance and the average amount of debt for graduates.

“Our rankings focus on the strength of each business program and how well it prepares its graduates for extended, successful careers by using results-oriented salary and employment metrics,” said Zippia co-founder Chris Kolmar. “If you’re looking to make a savvy business decision about where to get your business education in Massachusetts, your investment is secure with any institution on this list.”

Framingham State University ranked 10th in Massachusetts, according to the study.

The University’s Business Department also recently received national accreditation from the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE). In addition to undertaking a rigorous self-evaluation and comprehensive peer-review process, IACBE determined the department has “demonstrated a commitment to continuous improvement, excellence in business education, and advancing academic quality in its business programs and operations.”
