FSU Football Named Top Program in the State by HERO Sports

Oct 3, 2017

The Framingham State University football team was recently recognized as the top program in Massachusetts by HERO Sports, an online publication that covers professional and college sports.

The rankings take into account every program’s record and statistics over the past five years, regardless of division. The Rams, who have been on an unprecedented run of success under Coach Tom Kelley ‘76, came out on top in Massachusetts, with a record of 46-10 over that time period.

The Rams are off to one of the best starts in team history this fall, with early victories over defending MASCAC (Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference) champions Bridgewater State and Division III powerhouse Cortland State, who had defeated Framingham State in each of three previous matchups.

The team is ranked number 2 overall in New England in the Grinold Chapter New England Division III Football Poll. They are scheduled to take on Westfield State University during Homecoming and Family Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 21st, at noon.
