On-Campus Flu Vaccine Clinics – October 9, 2020

Dear Student,

This year the Governor has mandated that all college students must receive the flu vaccine. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s more important than ever to protect yourself from the flu. To make it easier for students we are providing 5 days of flu vaccine clinics on campus, October 19, 20, 21, 22 and 27 in the small gym in the Athletic Center.

All Students

The vaccine is covered 100% by your health insurance. After receiving your test make sure to upload to your documentation to the University medical health file in Medicat - https://framingham.medicatconnect.com/ . The State mandate requires that all students submit documentation of having received the flu vaccine to the University by 12/31/20.

On-campus immunizations: The attached form should be completed before coming to the on-campus flu clinic. It is a consent form and also asks for insurance information. If you are going home this weekend, it would be a good time to make sure you have this information. If you are under 18, please have your parent or guardian sign the form. Following your vaccination, you will upload your confirmation document to Medicat.

Off-campus immunization: Make sure that wherever you get your vaccine you are given documentation that you received the vaccine to upload in to Medicat by 12/31/2020.

Residential Students

Two of the flu clinics are scheduled on the same day as COVID-19 testing. If you have not already had your flu shot and are scheduled to have a COVID-19 test on Oct 20th (L-Z), please go to the Dwight Hall main lobby 20 minutes before your testing appointment to get your flu vaccine and then proceed to the big gym for testing. If you are scheduled to have COVID-19 testing on Oct. 27 (K-Z), you can plan to get your flu vaccine that day. If it’s more convenient, you can attend any of the other flu vaccine clinic days or get your test elsewhere.

Commuter Students

This mandate applies to you as well. You are welcome to attend any of the flu clinics on campus or if it is more convenient you can get a flu shot near your home. If you receive your immunization off-campus be sure to receive documentation to enter electronically into your health file through Medicate - https://framingham.medicatconnect.com/ .

Have a great holiday weekend but please remember social distancing, masks and good hand washing. FSU is doing well so far in keeping COVID-19 cases low so let’s do our best for that trend to continue to the end of the semester!
